Biography:

Monroe S. King (1839-1901) was born in Louisiana, the son of Vincent S. King, and came to Titus County with his family in the early 1840's. King served during the Civil War as a member of the Titus Grays, and then Company I, 9th Texas Calvary, Ross's Brigade. King married Sallie Tabb and the couple had one child.
